"What the 'L'?"

Funny story about my name tag from work!
So... the letters on my name tag should all be capital letters. The bottom of my "L" has been ripped off due to my brutal work situation (ha ha ha!). Anyways, this cute 90 year old man came through my line. This was the conversation:

Cute Man: Now is your name Sheiby or Shelby?

Me: Its Shelby. The bottom of my L has been ripped off from all the lifting that I do.

Cute Man: Oh, I just wanted to make sure. You know, I could ask you what the 'L' happened!

Me: HA HA HA that's a good one! I never would have thought of that! How clever.

Cute Man: Well, you know when your as old as I am you have a lot of time to think about things like that!
HA HA! I thought that was soooo cute! It made my day when it happened, and so I wanted to share it with all of you hoping that it would make your day too!

So... last night was Taco Tuesday at Del Taco again. I think Taco Tuesday is going to become a tradition. Cody and I went with some of our friends from work, Chris, Kenzie and Brandon. There was NO choking this week, thank goodness! And, Cody only ordered 6 tacos this week instead of 15. While Chris was in line getting his food and while Cody and I were waiting for Kenz, Cody saw my camera in my purse and decided to take some pictures. They turned out to be so much fun! I kinda wish that we would have gotten some of Kenz and Chris and Brandon too, but maybe next week.
Next week I'll get some fun ones with Kenz and Chris and everyone else who goes. Who knew that Del Taco would be the place to hang out on Tuesdays? Even if you don't go to get food, you might as well go for the crazy fun and the non-stop laughter!

Sam's Club Is Brutal

Work is brutal. I always get bruises and cuts and more bruises all up and down my arm, on my hands, on my fingers, etc. Wanna see the most recent one I got on Saturday?

It's worse then it looks (not in a bragging kind of way...). I got it by trying to grab a 50 lb. bag of rice off the bottom of the basket while transferring. I couldn't quite get my arm all the way out from underneath the basket while I was standin up and it got scraped pretty good. It stings... still and when I got it, it made my stomach kinda hurt for a second... thats how deep it got into the skin. My manager was so cute... she was so worried about it and everytime she walked past me she said, "Oh honey, is your arm ok?" It was bruised yesterday but today its not bad.

I got a new hat! Ok... I love hats. I always have, I just never have boughten any because I couldn't ever wear them to school so I figured it was a waste. Well, I went on saturday night and bought an MLB Angels hat (because I love the Angels!). Its so cute! I love it! I wore it all night Saturday night when I went to the movies with my friends, Kenzie and Emily, they thought it was Cody's hat... ha ha ha! It is a flat-brimmed hat. I kinda can't do the normal kind, only on some hats I can pull that off with. There are a few cute hats I like where the brim is normal but for the most part my hats have to be flat-brimmed.

Anyways, nothing else is really new or going on. Today is my day off... which is kind of exciting even though I don't really know what to do. Ha ha!

Birthday Bash

Ok... so it really wasn't a bash... but it was really fun!
My best friend, Erika, is turning 19 on Sunday. And I wanted to be able to do something with her for her birthday when we both had time. Last night, I got off of work at 7:oo pm, and I picked her up at her house. I told her to pick where she wanted to eat and what she wanted to do afterwards and it didn't matter what it was because I was paying. We ended up and The Italian Place for dinner and then afterwards we ended up roaming the mall for an hour before it closed. We went into Claire's where we have found these hilarious glasses... I don't know the point of them. But they are $8.50! HA HA FUNNY! I had to take a picture of them... and a picture of Erika and I because we don't get to hang out all that often. Luckily I had my camera with me...

If you know the point of these nine dollar glasses, please let me know! They had some with bling and different colors and psychadellic colors (I dunno if thats how you spell it) and... oh man! Erika and I thought they were hilarious!

After hitting up the mall, we went to Jamba Juice, because we both had been craving it since the night of the LAKERS (YAY!) vs. Jazz game when she mentioned Jamba. :O) Then we drove around for a while and then ended up back at her house for like a half hour. I had to open at work this morning so I was gone from her house by 10:30 pm. But oh my gosh! It was so much fun!

Sometimes the most fun hang outs are the ones where you just go with the flow, like we did.

Del Taco

So... I went over to my boyfriends house last night. It was so much fun! We played two games, Curses and Apples to Apples... my boyfriend and I had a competition on his Playstation 3 for a snowmobiling game, which I kept winning him at. Then he decided he wanted to switch the game to NBA Allstar... which I lost. It was 103 to 42. I did pretty good... once I figured out how to shoot and block and all that stuff. Then... we went to Del Taco. We met our friend, Chris, there after he got off of work at 9:30.

It was taco tuesday... Cody and Chris decided they wanted to have a taco eating contest to see who could eat the most tacos. (Taco Tuesday is where they have 3 cruchy tacos for $0.99...) Chris got 9 crunchy tacos, Cody got 15. While we were eating, Chris said something to Cody and Cody started laughing his head off. He had taco and water in his mouth... (He had just taken a swig of water.)

He started choking. He stood up and was coughing and then all of a sudden he was wheezing. I started pounding on his back and after a few seconds, I decided that pounding wasn't going to do anything. I started to get behind him to do the heimlich and he coughed up all of the stuff that was in his throat. THANK HEAVENS! He went into the bathroom and was there for a sec. Chris followed him to make sure he was ok.

The whole time I was preparing for the heimlich I was thinking, "I'm not big enough to do this on him... I'm gonna have to show Chris. I'm not big enough..." (Cody is 6' 1"... I'm 5' 6".) Thankfully he was able to cough up the stuff in his throat so that I didn't waste any time trying to get my arms around him and to try to heave him up off the floor for him to breathe again... Chris and I told him HE IS NOT ALLOWED TO EAT, DRINK, AND LAUGH AT THE SAME TIME. Chris told me that Cody has done that to him numerous times...

I am grateful that I have the knowledge that I can do the heimlich, or any other emergency procedure, on someone if needed. But I am also grateful that I didn't have to perform it on my boyfriend last night. Its scary... when you are in an actual situation like that. Especially when its someone that you know so well. If you aren't trained in performing the heimlich manuver, I would get some training. Its come in handy so many times for me when I have almost had to use it or have used it.

Pac Sun Perfume

So i got on my blog today and just realized that my url is "flearlessshelby" instead of "fearlessshelby." HA HA! wow... typo! Too bad I can't change it he he he... oh well. Its funny! So don't type in "fearlessshelby.blogspot.com"... type in "flearlessshelby.blogspot.com."

For valentines day, my boyfriend, Cody, got me some perfume that we both fell in love with at Pac Sun. The brand is Nollie and the name of the perfume is Shine. I opened it up yesterday to get it out of the box... and I saw a little black thing floating around in there. Take your guess as to what that thing was... A LITTLE TEENY TINY BUG! It so funny! I told Cody and he was like, "Well lets take it back! I should've checked it to make sure it was ok..." He kept going on and on. The whole time I was laughing. I told him not to worry about it and that I told him because I thought it was hilarious! I've never seen anything like that before. HA HA! And for the record, I'm still gonna use that perfume. Little bug or not. I tried taking a picture of it to put on here but my camera makes things really blurry when I zoom in... I'll take a picture of it when I get a better camera... or you can just imagine a little black speck floating around in my perfume he he he!

TAH DA!

Is that even how you spell "tah da"? Or is it... "ta dah!" Oh well... ha ha who cares?

Well, here I am. I've seen so many people have blogs, and I like keeping journals and stuff so I figured, why not? I have lots of friends and family who are always on the internet. This is another way to keep in touch and let people know what's goin' on in my life. (Plus I saw my sister's blog... freaking cute! I wanted to be in on the fun!)

You may be wondering why my blog name is "My Fearless Life." I've had some situations happen recently that made me want to change my life and make my life better. For one, I just got out of a bad relationship with someone who I thought was different. People around me kept saying, "Get out of it! It's bad!" or... "Don't get involved... you deserve better." and many other things. And I was somewhat stupid and didn't. I was scared. Scared to leave this kid and wonder what would happen. I wanted to try to be his friend, and I was scared that if i ended it, he wouldn't want to be my friend. That ended up being the case.

While listening to Taylor Swift's new cd, "Fearless", I was listening to the song entitled, "Fearless" and I decided that I wanted my life to be fearless. I decided that being fearless was having fears, but then dealing with them. I wanted to make mistakes, and end up learning from them.. I wanted to be able to take chances, fix things with my family and my friends. I wanted to be able to have fun and not be depressed like I always was when I was with this kid. I wanted to be able to fight for what I knew was right and fight for what I wanted. Tell people what I thought, being able to believe in people and stop believing others. So I changed. I am fearless. My life is fearless... and I hope that this blog portrays that. If not... I have screwed up. But hey, thats the chance I am taking and I'm not worried about it because... I AM FEARLESS!
