27 Years

Today is my parent's 27th anniversary! I am so grateful for my parents and for all the good decisions they have made and for all the hard work that they do for me and my brother, sister, brother-in-law, and my nephews. They have been such great examples, and they have taught us so well and I am very grateful to have been in their lives. I haven't always made things easy for them, but I am so glad that they have stuck by me and have been there for me, even when I didn't want them to be. I love them so so so so much!

Engagement Photo

On their wedding day, 27 years ago. ( Too bad I couldn't find a good picture of both of them with my Dad in his black cowboy hat... BAHAHAHAHA! This'll do. :D)

Today... still in love.

I have another thing that I have been thinking about lately... This picture:

This picture was taken around the end of December or beginning of January, right before Cody left. What is he wearing? If you can't tell... it's my headband that I was wearing that night. We were playing around and being goofy and he had pulled it off my head and was playing with it. Then I took it from him and put it on his head. He let me take this picture. No complaints or objections. He just sat there and smiled while I put it on his head.

As I look back on this night, I think... "What an idiot! I must have been super retarded to put that on his head!" But the more I think about it and think about how he never complained or told me to take it off, I realized how much he must love me to sit there and let me be retarded :P and let me put it on his head. What a patient guy. Sometimes I do wacky stuff like that, just because it is my personality. And that doesn't bug Cody one bit. He loves me for who I am and for how I act... even though sometimes it's crazy. And he loves me enough to let me do these kind of stupid things to him...

After I took this picture, he did this:

He put the headband down on his eyes like that and then told me to take a picture. :D

I love him so so much! What a guy to put up with me... sometimes I wonder what he even sees in me haha! But I love that I love him and I love that he loves me. I can't wait for the day that he comes home and that I can give him a huge huge hug and tell him about everything! I can't wait for the day when I can see him smile again and hear him talk and hear him laugh. I just can't wait to see him again.

I have a good post coming tomorrow! I'm warning though, you may want to be have an extra pair of pants on hand, or be close to a bathroom.... you'll have to wait and see why. :P

Carver Ryan Boyd

Carver Ryan Boyd was born today :D Awww... my dear sweet nephew. I'm sorry that I can't see you. I'm sorry that we're both in a situation where I'll never get to meet you... at least for a long while. Just know that I love you so very very much, just as much as I love your brother. Know that I am here for you, always, and that you can always count on your Aunt Shelby.

You too, Everett. I love you so very much too and know that I am always looking out for you and that I would do anything for you and your brother. I'm always here for you.

The World Through Everett's Eyes... Literally.

I was filming Everett today when they came over for piano. He got a hold of my phone while I was filming it. I decided to let it go because it would be a fun blog video... well I thought so at least hehe!

Oh I love that kid! He makes me smile! Here's another fun video... then I got some pictures...

Crisis.

I'm in a crisis. I'm gonna make it a long story short.

Two of my best friends from work were dating. One of them was having issues with the other. Not bad issues... issues that bug the crap out of her because she's a go-go-goer and doer... plus there was something going on with her parents about him which is a stupid reason cause they don't even know the kid. :(

Well. They broke up this morning. She was bawling to me last night cause she knew she needed to do it but she didn't want to. He called me this morning crying before I went to school because he didn't know what to do.

That's not the crisis.

Here's the crisis.

I have a crush on this kid. I have since before these two started dating... after I broke up with Cody. I had a crush on him even while I was dating Austin... :0( But neither one of these people know about this because I knew they both liked each other... I even helped the one ask the other one out. And I want them both to be happy. I decided that I would be happy just havin him as a friend then not at all. But now... I want to be with him. I want to make him happy. But I don't want my other friend to have a fit because she is a besty... see my dilemma?

I think I'm not gonna tell the one... for a while... just to see if my feelings subside. And I don't know about the other one...

I would feel bad if all of this goes down bad because of this. That's why neither one are gonna know... right now.

UGH!

In the meantime... Everett's starting posing while he eats. Look at this...

Cute little booger!

I'll Never Let Go!

My nephew was beggin for my dad a lot today. So when my dad took him from my mom, Rett grabbed onto my dad's shirt like this and would not let go. It was as if he wanted to say, "Oh finally, Grandpa! You get to hold me! Now don't let me go..." or "Why I oughta!" Man oh man, it was so cute! He finally let go after about 10 minutes... I think he just missed Grandpa. He doesn't get to see him a lot.

Teradactyle Boy

My nephew, Rett, has started squealing when he's laughing... we call him the TERADACTYLE.

Oh goodness... I love that little boy!

On March 31, my cousin, Nash, turned 11 years old. My how time flies! I remember when my Aunt Dalene called my mom one morning while we were getting ready for school and told her that she went into labor. I remember going to the hospital that night and holding Nash for the first time... after finding out she was a girl of course. (Dalene and Jeff wanted to wait to see what they were having till they had the baby...) I remember when she came to our house when she was 6 months old for us to babysit, and we've watched her ever since. She's broken her left arm twice, moved across the street from us, then moved right next door to us, and tons of other things that I am glad I haven't missed out on.

I love you Nash-lyn! Thanks for being my "little sister!"

The Dancing Guru and The Late-Night Cousin's

Parker had the BYU Nationals Ballroom Competition this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He did really really good! I didn't work on Thursday so I went and watched him. Him and his partner, Chelsey, placed 5th in the pre-champ Latin comp. Pre-champ is above the youth category, and is a bigger deal then youth as well. Its what the college students usually compete in and post college competitors as well. So the fact they made finals and placed fifth is amazing! They also placed 2nd in their Smooth category! Chelsey was crying she was so happy! And their coach was so proud that someone finally noticed their hard work. The high school comps they didn't hardly get called to finals so if they place in nationals, which is a bigger deal then the high school, then they are really really good!
Chelsey, Angela (their coach) and Parker.
I love my brother and I am so proud of him and all of his hard work!

Yesterday when I got off work, I went over to my grandparents house to visit with Grandma, Grandpa, Diana, Kristy, Shayna, Deborah, and Lindsey. It was so much fun! Grandpa played with Rett, and he was having a ball. It was so cute! Rett was talking to him and trying to grab his glasses. I had to get a picture. So I did...

This is my favorite one that I got out of like four pictures. Grandpa is so proud! Deborah and Lindsey stayed until 3:45 this morning just sitting and talking with Diana and Kristy. I would have stayed that long but I had been up since 7:00 am and I was getting tired. I didn't get home until 1:00 am. That's how much fun Linds and I had with everyone! We went to Wal-Mart and we both got the game Apples to Apples. Kristy wanted to play it after we went and got Wendy's. Deborah and Diana played it with us too! It was so much fun! I love spending time with my family... especially Lindsey since we don't get to see each other a lot. I know I've said that before, but it's the truth.

Don't ask. Ha ha remember, we are psycho! But we love each other and I love that we can be that way around each other and that neither one of us cares! Our family doesn't either... which is a plus! Love ya Linds!

My Favorite Nephew

Need I say anymore? This is me and my nephew, Everett. He came over to our house last night because Chris took Whitney out for her birthday since they couldn't do it on her actual birthday.

He was sitting on mom's lap for a few minutes and then he started to get fussy because he was getting bored. So... I took him for a walk, ha ha! We ended up in our entry way where we have a huge mirror that my Grandma Stringfellow gave us up on the wall. I stopped in front of it and was playing with Rett and he was just grinning up a storm at himself. I pulled out my phone, which he loves to look at, and took this picture of us.

I LOVE MY NEPHEW! He's the best thing that has happened to me in a long time, besides my mom, dad, brother, sister and brother-in-law.

Today was piano day, which means Whitney comes on Wednesday afternoons to teach Nash piano. While she was giving her lessons, Rett was sitting on my lap and was just singing and cooing and talking. I pulled out my phone and started to video him, he just kept talking and was as happy as could be. This is the video that I took...

All I have to say is that I love this little boy!
